Onboarding to Text Message Marketing via the Merchant Portal

The Text Message Marketing feature allows restaurant owners and managers to quickly and easily send marketing SMS campaigns to their customer base. Merchants can schedule announcements, promote offers, or instantly notify customers of important updates. Whether it’s a last-minute special, a seasonal promotion, or an event reminder, campaigns can be sent ASAP or scheduled ahead of time with full control.

A neighborhood diner is planning a weekend brunch special. To boost turnout, the manager creates a scheduled SMS campaign mid-week that sends out a reminder Saturday morning to all loyalty program members, promoting the special menu and encouraging early reservations.

Onboarding to Text Message Marketing Program

Step 1
Login to "Applova Merchant Portal".

Step 2
Navigate to "Settings" and then go to "Plugins".

Step 3
Go to "Text Message Marketing" and the following popup will appear.


Step 4
The "Info" tab shows an introduction about the feature. Then click "Get Started" to go to the "Package" tab. 


Step 5
On the "Packages" tab, select a suitable package for your business and click "Next".

Enter the requested details about your business and click "Submit". 


InfoA one-time legal and registration fee is collected by Vonage during the Text Message Marketing account setup process. The fee is displayed based on the selected Legal Form and may vary depending on the business type selected.
  1. Government: $50
  2. Non Profit: $50
  3. Private Profit: $50
  4. Public Profit: $60
  5. Sole Proprietor: $25

Business Information Field Definitions

These fields are used to verify the business, confirm ownership, and support compliance requirements for U.S. restaurant merchants.

Legal Form - The official business structure under which the restaurant is registered.

Options:

  • Government

  • Non Profit

  • Private Profit

  • Public Profit

  • Sole Proprietor

Vertical Type - The industry category of the business.

Options:

  • Travel, Hospitality and Transportation

  • Goods producing industries

  • Consumer products and services including Retails and eTails

Legal Company Name - The official registered name of the business as listed on tax, registration, or legal documents.

DBA or Brand Name - The public-facing business name that customers recognize.

Website - The official website or online ordering page for the restaurant. This field is optional.

Tax Number / ID / EIN - The business tax identification number used for official verification.

Primary Contact Person - The details of the main person responsible for completing the onboarding process and receiving communication about the Text Message Marketing Program.

Business Address - The official address of the restaurant or business location.

Step 7
Click on “Open Payment Page” to proceed with the one-time setup fee payment.

You will also receive an email containing the payment link as a follow up to complete the payment process.

Step 8
Enter the card details on the payment page, then click on “Proceed.”


Step 9
Once the payment is completed, the Payment Successful message will be displayed.



Step 10
After successful payment, your submitted details will be sent for review and the “In Review” popup will remain visible until the review is complete.




If payment is not completed, the “Setup Fee Required” popup will remain visible.

Once the submitted details get reviewed and verified, you will be able to create campaigns.
