AI Curated Up-Sell Suggestions via Merchant Web

This feature allows merchants to receive AI-curated recommendations for enhancing product offerings and boosting sales through intelligent up-sell suggestions directly within the Merchant Web platform.

What is Up-Sell?

Up-sell involves offering a higher-value alternative to a selected product. For instance, suggesting a Combo when a customer chooses a Regular Burger.

Use Case Scenario

Urban Café, a fast-casual restaurant, wants to boost revenue by promoting premium versions and meal upgrades—especially during evening hours when combo purchases are low. To simplify the process and avoid manually setting up upsell links, they enable the AI‑Curated Up‑Sell Suggestions feature in their Merchant Portal.

With this feature, Urban Café can:

  1. Automatically generate AI-driven upsell suggestions (e.g., Double Cheese Melt, Combo Upgrade with Side & Drink) for top items like the Classic Grilled Cheese and Avocado BLT.
  2. These suggestions are shown to customers before checkout.

This setup helps Urban Café increase average order value, improve product visibility, and deliver more personalized upgrade options.

How to Configure AI-Curated Up-Sell via Merchant Web?

Step 1
Login to "Applova Merchant Portal".

Step 2
Navigate to "Products".

Step 3
You will see a banner titled "Boost Sales with AI-Powered Recommendations!" Click on "Setup Now".

Notes
After the initial configuration, the banner will be hidden and won’t reappear for 7 days. However, you can still access the “Product Recommendation” feature anytime from the "Actions" button.

Step 4
Choose "Up-Sell" from the modal popup.

The system will generate the AI-curated up-sell suggestions.

Recommendations can be approved manually.


Step 7
To approve in bulk, click "Approve All". Only selected suggestions will be submitted one by one.

If a product is already configured as a up-sell, it will be labelled as “Already Configured” from the AI-generated suggestions. 
Notes
Note that if suggestions are already configured, the Approve and Decline Actions will be disabled



Step 9
On approval, up-sell products are auto-configured to display during checkout and reflected under: Go to the Selected Product > Select "More" > Go to "Manage Recommended Products" > up-Sell.
